Romanticising life

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you appreciate that you are alive, or do you pick up your phone and start scrolling through the reels? Is the first and last thing you do in a day using your phone? Nowadays, we consume so much that we forget we are human beings, not truly enjoying the moment, but on Instagram, we portray ourselves as the happiest people. When was the last time you were without a smartphone? If you can't remember, it's time to unplug from your smartphone for a while and be with yourself, appreciating the life you've been gifted. Don't brag about things you don't have. If you constantly want more, you may never feel truly rich. Being satisfied with what you have may not make you wealthy in terms of money, but it can make you rich in contentment because the desire for more is an endless cycle.Once you start living in a minimalist way, you'll begin to appreciate the beauty of having less. You won't be preoccupied with the next thing you need to buy to find happiness. Instead, you'll find contentment in what you already have at this moment.

Romanticizing your life begins with seeing yourself as the protagonist of your own story. Time will continue to pass, whether you actively shape your life or not. It's important to be more empathetic towards yourself and to love yourself as you are. Put an end to the self-hatred battle that you've been fighting within yourself. Recognize that this self-hatred only harms your mental well-being and doesn't contribute to your overall stability. When you look in the mirror, see that person as your own child. You need to love and care for that inner child just as you would with any child in your life. You wouldn't abuse your own child or tell them they're not enough, so don't do that to yourself. Think of yourself as your own child, and it becomes your responsibility to protect, love, and accept that inner child with kindness and compassion.

Take a moment to slow down in life. When you do, and you sit to watch the sunset or sunrise, you'll likely notice the tranquility and joy these moments can bring. It's crucial to appreciate the beauty in life's small moments. My suggestion is to slow down and stop multitasking. When you try to do too many things at once, you can't give any one task the attention it deserves. So, embrace being a single-tasker. You might argue that doing two things simultaneously is more efficient, but in reality, when you single-task and focus on one thing at a time, you'll likely find that you can achieve the same results in less time and with higher quality.

Don't expect that significant events in the future will be the sole source of your happiness. Start appreciating the little things in life, the daily routines and chores. Even when doing something as mundane as washing dishes, you can find a way to appreciate the moment. When you eat, focus on the taste, the warmth, and the aroma of the food. You'll discover that the beauty of life is often found in these small, everyday moments. By learning to enjoy the little things, you'll find that in the bigger picture, you can truly relish your entire existence.
